We will ride on our bicycles through our hometown making our way to three different cenotes around our community. Physical wear with the bicycles is minimum. We spend most of the time in the water. Join us for an intimate artisanal mezcal tasting & dinner pairing in our private jungle garden at our home in the center of Tulum Pueblo! Solo travelers, couples & friends are all welcome to our garden where we will prepare a 5-course dinner cooked on the fire paired with 1 ounce tastings of five artisanal, small-batch mezcals sourced from different regions around the country. We create a prix fixe menu using locally sourced ingredients for every experience and are happy to accommodate any food allergies or dietary restrictions that we are notified of in *advance*. Ancient culinary techniques, fresh ingredients, tortillas made from scratch, flavors of our traditional Mexico, everything is set and carefully curated for a cultural and gastronomical immersion to the deepest traditions and roots of our Mesoamerican civilizations. In a beautiful Mexican-style house, surrounded by gardens, our Culinary Experience starts off with a brief, yet quite informative, introduction to the essential flavors and ingredients of Mexican cuisine We will also do a mezcal tasting so you can learn how to identify a good one! Then, moving on to the unique experience of preparing an authentic Mexican meal from scratch! We try to always use traditional utensils, like metate and molcajete, to have a real cooking experience. Many of the dishes you will learn and help cook come from my own family’s cookbook. By the end of the class, we sit down in one table to share the food and the experience itself! Tras la visita emprenderemos al melipona río nos dirigiremos a nuestra unidad de manejo ambiental para conocer de cerca las actividades e iremos por un sendero en la jungla hasta llegar a 200 metros a un magnifico cenote subterráneo donde podrás zambullirte y nadar en sus aguas iluminadas y cristalinas.

From there we will ride together to Guanabacoa, our hometown. Once there, you will learn about the influence of the Afro-Cuban religions in our cuisine while we share a typical beverage. Then, Jose´s mom will show you how to cook in our local style, having the opportunity to understand when, why, and how we prepare each dish. Finally, we will enjoy tasting the different plates that we prepared and, in that moment, when we are laughing and sharing our personal stories under the rhythm of drums, you will realize that the simple act of eating assumes mystical dimensions and has the power to bring strangers together like family. At the end of the day you will know how flavors, music and dance tell the story of the desires and struggles of our African ancestors. This experience focuses on the difficult process of making a cigar. From the hand of an experienced cigar roller we will learn to make an examplar, we will explain all the specificities that accompany the process of making this product, from the time it is grown, until it reaches your hands. This will be the perfect time for our CIGAR CHALLENGE, after which we will reward the best cigar roller of the experience. After choosing our winner (special ceremony included), we will go on to what we consider to be an authentic ritual: the smoking of the habano, action that we will combine with other delights, giving way to an excellent pairing among cigars, rum and coffee. And then, SURPRISE, a second contest!! We will be competing among each other to select the person who manages to keep the longest cigar ash, and the one who best performs some other tricks we will be teaching you. This is called: LONG ASH CONTEST. At the end of the experience more gifts will come, and that is because we do not want you to leave without taking with you souvenirs related to this experience, so you will be bringing home with you some amazing memories but also little things that will forever remind you of Cuba. We'll meet in the city center and travel to a popular neighborhood using public transportation, just as typical Cubans do. We'll walk through the community and interact with the people there so you can see what a normal day is like for the locals. Together, we'll experience the daily lives and idiosyncrasies of Cubans, and learn about the main accomplishments and challenges of our economic and social reality. The day will end at my family's home, where you will get to know the story of my Cuban family, and also taste some typical drinks and snacks. Come on guest board our Cabbin vessel, a 33 ft Lafitte Skiff, our crab boat. Captain Masson will head us to Andre's nearby crab traps, within Bayou Bienvenue. Upon arrival, Andre will pull up a few crab traps for everyone to observe the process a local crabber goes thru to catch these delicacies, the Blue Crab. Then YOU can try your luck at pulling a trap up like a local... (Some crabbers may have up to 1000 traps) The trap will be baited and you will return the trap to the water. The Captain will then head us to a few areas of interest in Bayou Bienvenue, (the flood wall built across the MRGO, Violet Canal camps, and the Battery Bienvenue just to mention a few). We will proceed back to the Hebert's home where they will describe how the crabs are prepared to eat. Akumal es el “Lugar de las Tortugas” en lengua Maya. Este santuario es un refugio y área protegida para las tortugas marinas. Well guys, what can I say, YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE THIS TOUR. Have you ever seen bikers dancing in The Malecon? Hahaha, with luck you can witness a unique episode!! After picking up the bikes, we will ride along the streets of Havana City looking for street food, pretty much like a city tour on bikes. You will have the opportunity to see and take photos of important landmarks like The Royal Force Castle, The Morro Castle on the other side of the bay, The Malecon, National Hotel, Revolution Square, and many others. During the tour, you will interact with locals as well. A regular food market will be visited. I will teach you how the distribution of food works in Cuba. After this, we'll continue to have some street food at different points along the way. I will carrythe necessary money in CUP to pay for the food, and will also let you know a few details about the currencies we use in Cuba and other tips. Be aware: Our bikes can't hold more than 90 kg, that's why we aren't able to receive guests that may weigh more than that, it is unsafe for guests, and bikes may broke easily. Keep in mind the tour covers about 15 kilometers, so, be ready!!!
